The Graduate Certificate in Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary program that provides the perspectives of scholarship in gender studies and makes accessible the growing body of knowledge emerging from feminist thought.

The program offers graduate students an opportunity to earn a Certificate in Gender Studies by completing one core course (Gender Studies 405: Advanced Feminist Theory), four elective courses, and a major research project.

Certificate students are Master's or Ph.D. candidates in a home department at Northwestern, and receive the certificate in Gender Studies once the requirements of the certificate have been completed.

You may email Gender Studies Director/Director of Graduate Study Jeffrey Masten (j-masten@northwestern.edu) with questions about the Graduate Certificate.

Visit the website of the Graduate School at Northwestern University for a general application or for additional information.
