Meaghan Fritz graduated with a B.A. in English and Spanish literature from Georgia State University, an M.A. in English from Georgetown University, and she is now a doctoral student in the English Department at Northwestern. Her area of specialty is nineteenth-century American literature, with a focus on women's writing. Her research interests focus on the literature of slavery and abolitionist literature, and she is especially interested in the abolitionist gift book, and the gift book genre more broadly, in the nineteenth century.
